NFC & JAPAN
In 2004 the 'mobile wallet,' known as Near Field Communication was introduced. It was the first commercial mobile wallet in the world and at the time it was only available over seas. This mobile wallet is flexible for users because it had multi applications and therefore is very popular. Businesses are able to expand in this direction and change their products, or create new ones to fit with the popularity of this new innovation.
However, if a lot of manufacturers and developers are developing various forms of 'NFC,' then it would be difficult to incorporate one in our daily lives. This is exemplified in North America, where there are various forms of 'NFC.' This is inefficient because retailers cannot incorporate all forms of wireless payments into their stores; it is too expensive to do so. Although there are some competition for wireless payments in Japan, fortunately, they only consider one to be the standard, which is NFC itself. Therefore, businesses and users are able to maximize their benefits from these wireless devices because there is only one standard.

By having NFC as a standard it makes it secure for businesses and consumers to trust in NFC as well, have more incentive to incorporate NFC into daily lives.
